The idea grew from Catherine’s two podcasts. GOBSMACKED! explores the moments that change the course of people’s lives, while ASSA MARRA gives people across West Cumbria a platform to share their stories and experiences. Both have shown what can happen when people are given the time, space and encouragement to speak and be heard.

Catherine wanted to take that work further. She set up Gobsmacked CIC to use podcasting, interviewing, storytelling, coaching and public speaking to help people develop their confidence and communication skills.

Our work will include projects for young people, women and communities across West Cumbria, alongside leadership development and coaching for businesses. By bringing the two sides together, we can create new opportunities, share expertise and make sure that the benefits of our commercial work are felt in the wider community.

Gobsmacked! is still at the beginning of its story. Our aim is to grow carefully, work with the right people and create opportunities that make a real difference.
